Duo Photometer flyer (PDF)

The Duo Photometer plus is a reliable companion in many gynaecologists’ practices for measuring haemoglobin and glucose during prenatal care. A midwife’s bilirubin measurement in the home environment saves new mothers a trip to the doctor. Lactate is measured for performance diagnostics or rehabilitation sports in just a few minutes. Up to 20 samples can be measured simultaneously.

The Duo Photometer plus becomes a mobile laboratory with a practical carry case, which holds the accessories required for the measurement.

Parameter

Bilirubin
Erythrocyten

Glucose

Hämoglobin-HiCN

Hämoglobin-SLS

Hämatokrit

Lactat

More information at a glance

The Duo Photometer plus is distinguished by the high precision of its measurement results. The measuring principle is based on proven wet-chemical photometric methods. Regular checks by the Reference Institute for Bioanalysis, Bonn (RfB) guarantee consistently high product quality. The reagents are ready to use and filled in round cuvettes.

The Duo Photometer plus is suitable for the following applications

Haemoglobin measurement is indispensable for monitoring the progress of pregnancies and is an integral part of antenatal care. This also applies to glucose measurement, which is suitable for the rapid detection of gestational diabetes (ogtt) and fulfils the requirements of the maternity guidelines (BAnz. No.36, p.914) and the S3 guideline (AWMF Register No.057/008). Glucose can be analysed from venous blood, capillary blood, or serum/plasma. The measured glucose values are plasma-based in each case.

Bilirubin measurement in the first 14 days of life is part of the basic programme for examining newborn babies.
A few drops of capillary blood in a capillary blood collection tube are sufficient to obtain 20 µL of plasma in the mini centrifuge. The bilirubin measurement is carried out with this small sample quantity.

Lactate is the most important indicator for assessing physical performance in sports medicine. However, lactate is also analysed in emergency situations and in intensive care medicine, as high lactate values at rest indicate that individual areas of the body are being insufficiently supplied with oxygen. The Duo Photometer plus is also suitable for measuring lactate in forensic medicine. The device only takes a few minutes to measure lactate and up to 20 samples can be measured simultaneously.
